For my final synoptic project at college, I would have finished an animation based around a pantomime.
Development progress update
-
- March 26th 2020 – So far, I have textured a ball and animated it rolling towards a robot character called Metal Dude. Also, I have animated Metal Dude subsequently pushing the large ball away, as it was an evil object from his nemesis, and a skull-faced squid alien creature, whose design was inspired by Taito’s 1970s arcade game Space Invaders, comes flying in between the ball and Metal Dude.
Most recently, I have made an attempt of animating Metal Dude kicking the extra-terrestrial cephalopod in a very exaggerated and cartoonishly nimble way by moving his left leg as pantomimes are a comedic art form. However, while I have presented the basic action of the robot moving his leg, it does not look quite as fast as it does at the end of my storyboard.

Planning & formative evaluation
- March 27th 2020 – What are you seeing here is a list of VFX items that I had to create. Up to this point, I have created a model of the Space Invaders-inspired alien to put into the animation scene to animate. Nonetheless, I only have to do the syncing with scene task. Other members of the team are in charge of making the visual effects and sound design.
